Isn’t this a sequel to Depth’s Revival 1?

Yes and no.
This game takes place in the same universe as DR1, but it has a whole new cast and a new main character who shares the same fate our first MC had.

But having a new cast also doesn’t mean we’re never going to see the cast of the first game. The first episode has some small nods, and in the future episodes we’ll get to see our old cast in a new light. I already made a devlog spoiling the fate of DR1’s cast, if you want, you can check it out here.
